JOB SUMMARY:This position is in the General Tax Administration, Sarasota Service Center, Field Operations - Collections. This is a Tax Specialist I position in the Department of Revenue’s Receivables Management Field Operations Collection Process. The incumbent provides professional guidance to Department personnel, members of the legal and accounting professions and to the public on the Florida tax statutes and Department policies and procedures. The incumbent provides personal customer service at local service centers and responds to phone inquiries to educate and assist the public. The incumbent assists the public with registering new business entities, responds to tax law questions, analyzes and reviews tax situations, conducts reviews of tax returns, and reviews business’s books and records to determine tax liabilities. The incumbent collects delinquent accounts, tax warrants, bills, audit assessments and any other receivable either in person, over the phone, or at the taxpayer’s business location. The incumbent assists in training and educating the public and Department employees.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue;

  • A minimum of one year of experience in managing accounts receivable tax obligations within General Tax Administration utilizing Systems Applications Products (SAP) software.

  • This position requires travel which may include overnight stays;
