This job was posted by : For more information, please see: POSITION SUMMARY:The Associate Director of Annual Giving focuses on identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding university prospects and donors at the leadership level with varied interests, and manages TU's Annual Giving program and staff. This position reports to the Associate Vice President for Institutional Advancement.CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES:Works collaboratively with the Dean of McFarlin Library and has primary responsibility for securing annual and major gifts, donor stewardship, development of public support groups, fundraising event coordination, and managing the relationships between the Library and its constituentsCoordinates the McFarlin Fellows program, Henneke Society, McFarlin Library Visiting Committee (includes researching authors and booking speakers for events) and other Library eventsWorks with University Relations and the Dean of McFarlin Library to write and design cultivation and stewardship materials (including McFarlin Messenger), and to coordinate McFarlin Library social media activityDevelops and personally manages a portfolio of high-end leadership level donors and prospects including face-to-face solicitations for annual supportSupervises other Annual Fund staff; ensures TU's annual giving program is meeting targeted objectivesManages the President's Council donor recognition group; this includes identifying, cultivating and soliciting new prospects and stewardship activities and events; establishes and meets annual qualitative and quantitative goals, objectives and key accountabilities in order to increase the number of donors and dollars raisedAlong with Annual Fund staff, identifies prospects for various units, increasing the number of new annual donors, re-engaging lapsed annual donors, and upgrading current contributors to TU's annual fund to ensure upward movement of prospects through the pipeline for major giftsWith Annual Fund staff and major gift officers, monitors overlap between lists of President's Council members and major gift prospects to ensure that contact strategies are developed in a coordinated fashionWhen appropriate, develops formal, written proposals to donor prospects for supportManages select key university events focused on donor stewardship and cultivation; works with the special events team to design cultivation and stewardship activities in support of TU's fundraising goals Performs other duties as assigned/neededMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; two to three years of experience in fundraising or equivalent volunteer experience; strong written and oral communication skills; excellent attention to detail, adherence to deadlines and follow through on projects; experience with consensus building among various and competing interests; effective interpersonal skills; and the ability to professionally represent the university by demonstrating pride and loyalty.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master's degree; previous successful experience in higher education fundraising; coordination of volunteers for the purposes of friendraising and fundraising; and a familiarity with the university history and communityAPPLICATION INFORMATION:The University of Tulsa seeks to recruit and retain talented students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.
