About the Team
Samsung Internet is one of the top mobile web browsers worldwide, with hundreds of millions of users at https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2016/10/whats-the-deal-with-the-samsung-internet-browser/ . As one of the top contributors to the open source Chromium at https://www.chromium.org/Home project, Samsung are helping to advance the web platform, improving the experience of using the web for people across the globe.
The Developer Advocacy team launched in 2016 to help support 3rd party developers who are building web applications on top of Samsung’s browser. Developer advocates are passionate evangelists for web technologies as well as vocal champions for developer interests within Samsung.
Our team is based at Samsung Research UK in Staines-upon-Thames. We sometimes travel to other locations for events and we are generally flexible about working from home when you need to.
What you could expect
As an intern in the team, you would have opportunities to:
Contribute to technical documentation that can help other developers to make the most of web technologies and Samsung Internet’s latest capabilities (including MDN)
Develop your own web applications to test out and demonstrate new web features
Write blog posts to share about your own work and the wider team’s work
Attend developer events and potentially speak at some yourself (if you would like to)
Engage with developers, for example on social media, in order to learn about their needs and gather feedback
Assist with activities related to web standards development

This position will have a focus on writing developer documentation, so we would like to see some of your written work, especially technical articles, for example from your blog.
It would be helpful if you have some understanding of how to design content and interfaces that make for a better user experience. If you have an eye for what makes a good design, this can help us to make our developer hub and documentation better for developers.
Experience working with diversity and inclusion policies (such as a code of conduct) within a team, online community, event or open source project is strongly preferred.
It would also be a bonus if you might have any experience of contributing to open source projects or involvement in developer communities.
