The Tax Reporting Manager is responsible for providing strategic oversight and direction to the Tax Reporting Audit and Control, Operations Support and Processing teams. This manager leads highly complex tax reporting processing and service teams in support of various channels across Wells Fargo Advisors (WFA). This role has accountability for the department's financial and operational performance and the responsibility to build and maintain relationships with Cost Basis, Channel, Risk, and Compliance leadership. Responsible for leading the implementation of all regulatory and industry projects impacting department processes with an expectation to deliver quality service to multiple sales channels with unique needs on time. Contributes ideas to all levels of leadership and participates in industry initiatives.

  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of brokerage operations experience

  • 9+ years of operations experience

  • 6+ years of management experience in operations

  • Ability to identify inefficiencies, opportunities to streamline business processes, and implement change

  • Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment

  • Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability

  • Ability to translate and summarize complex data into understandable, actionable information and recommendations

  • Knowledge and understanding of service level agreement process

  • Knowledge and understanding of tax: reporting, filing, remittance, processing, initiatives, and strategies

  • Ability to provide leadership by coaching, training, and mentoring

  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Solid budget forecasting and risk management skills

  • Registration for FINRA Series 99 must be completed within 120 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.

  • Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. In addition state registration, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA review process at the time of offer acceptance.
