Position Summary and Responsibilities

TBE is leveraging our modeling and simulation (M&S), hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL), and discrete event simulation expertise to develop the Objective Simulation Framework (OSF) for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

The OSF is the primary simulation framework used for testing the Ballistic Missile Defense system (BMDS). This position will work to integrate Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) and digital representations from each of the BMDS program elements into a system that accurately represents the performance of fielded BMDS equipment against a variety of threats in realistic environments.

The Java Software Engineer position includes activities to:

  • Design, develop, and test Human Machine Interface (HMI) / Graphical User Interface (GUI) and back-end software to configure test participants

  • Provide graphical and data-driven situational awareness during simulation execution

  • Produce analysis of test results

  • Perform trade studies, analysis, and development from receipt of system requirements through support for FQT and periodic delivery of software baseline.

Active Secret Clearance is required.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Requires a BS or engineering degree in a program which includes extensive courses in mathematics and/or computer science, plus approximately five (5) years professional experience in computer programming and/or computer systems analysis. An MS degree in an appropriate area is desirable and may be substituted for up to two years of experience.

Strongly Preferred:

  • Experience using Eclipse as a development framework.

  • Experience using an Agile development methodology environment.

  • Experience with Linux/Unix.

Active Secret Clearance is required.
