Company Job ID-ESMEUS3548Director of Network Engineering will be a leader for the network engineering team. This individual will be responsible for overall network architecture and its implementation, prioritization of projects within the team, interfacing with stakeholders, and providing technical leadership on the long-term network strategy. The Director of Network Engineering will also be responsible for substantial network planning and design focused on new solutions along with efficient and effective growth and expansion. Strategic planning of network evolution with regards to active/active architectures, multiple data center integration, and DR and resiliency. Keen focus on network performance, reliability and staff performance. Build, identify, develop and motivate a best in class, high caliber, team-oriented engineering organization that promotes excellence, rewards results and has a true sense urgency.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSStrategizes in close partnership with Enterprise Architecture to develop and implement all relevant guiding principles, reference architecture, and standards effectively creating a technical infrastructure that helps achieve Company business objectives.Network Design Evaluate new and emerging technologies to drive future systems/network capabilities. Oversee development of technical design for critical components and newly approved technologies. Consult with enterprise architects and key business users to understand future business needs.Applies strong knowledge of data communications principles, architectures and protocols including TCP/IP, routing, switching, WAN and Ethernet technologies to design and implement efficient network configurations.Demonstrates the ability to manage complicated technical projects including time-lines, costs, resources and vendor relationships.Provides advanced technical and operational escalation support to the Operations staff on network elements, internal processes, training requirements, vendor support, and network design and planning.Manages vendor relations and product evaluations, provides costs analysis and feasibility studies.Delegates responsibilities, ensures project deadlines are met, communicates and tracks progress toward company and departmental goals, and conducts performance appraisals.Works collaboratively with the information security organization to assist in the detection and mitigation of security events.Works collaboratively with other engineering and architecture groups to implement standards and best practices and redesign/re-engineer network components as needed.QUALIFICATIONSBachelors degree - Technical engineering or IT related field8 years of experience of leading teams directly or by influence in developing and delivering network architecture designs.Proven leadership capabilities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Proven experience in designing, documenting and writing deliverable plans for network implementations and supporting processes.Extensive technical knowledge of networking and network security technologies and protocolsA minimum of 10 years of network infrastructure operations and engineering experience.Team building, mentoring and coaching skillsABOUT THE DEPARTMENTDo you enjoy melding the here and now with the future - and charting the path to get there?
