Dell Strategic Capture Manager (Remote) in District Of Columbia

The Strategic Capture Manager identifies the resources needed to pursue a strategic SLED opportunity, oversees the bid strategies, teaming agreements, pricing and proposal strategy. In addition manages the transition from business opportunity to proposal development to award.

Business Development within Corporate Marketing provides the market analysis, competitor information and customer knowledge to evaluate new business opportunities and steer their success. Focused on growing our business outside the US, we are experts on mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and joint ventures. We use this expertise to lead the planning, design, due diligence and implementation of strategic business development objectives.

This position may require up to 30% travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees/manages operational support to the segments; establishes operational objectives and assignments for subordinates

  • Identifies and brings key strategic issues and opportunities forward in a clear and structured way

  • Manages coordination of communications and information dissemination with sales force and cross- functional organizations

  • Project management methodology utilization

  • Develops sales measurement models and diagnostic tools to help identify sales performance indicators, key areas of opportunity and sales force training needs

  • Analyzes and recommends organization wide strategic priorities, sales force performance metrics and sales effectiveness tracking methods in order to maintain and improve the company’s competitive advantage in the market

  • Evaluates and recommends changes in sales incentive plans in line with analyses that impact the entire organization

Essential Requirements

  • Ability to lead, motivate and direct a work group

  • Expert understanding of sales processes

  • Ability to influence others to achieve results

  • Strong strategic planning abilities

  • Understanding of key sales and management reporting tools

  • Advanced computer skills

  • Typically requires 15+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12+ years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 8+ years experience; or equivalent experience
