Job Summary: The Residential Life Area Coordinator promotes an educational learning environment through active leadership and proper stewardship of the facilities, staff, and operations of a residential community.

Additional Department Summary: The primary goal of a Residential Life Area Coordinator is to facilitate the operations of the area, consisting of multiple residential communities, in which he/she oversees through supervision of the Graduate Community Directors, known as Community Directors, and other community support staff. Additionally, the Residential Life Area Coordinator is responsible for oversight of ensuring that area staff is promoting a supportive climate for residents to thrive academically and socially through mentoring and supervising the Community Director staff. Responsible for completing required training that is related to laws and regulations, that creates a more hospitable and respectful workplace; and safer work environment. Responsible for holding staff accountable for completion of required training. Has personal accountability for financial reporting and responsibility for establishing, enforcing, and following internal processes and controls as outlined in UA policies and procedures.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience; or a master's degree some experience. Student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student oriented experience will be considered. To be considered student experience, it must be detailed in the employment section on the application.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have supervisory, customer service, and at least one year experience working in a residence hall.

This position will be required to live on campus. The incumbent must have the ability to work outside of normal work hours.

Valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Preferred Qualifications: A Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Support Services, or similar preferred.
