Cree Distribution Center Manager in Racine, Wisconsin
Location: Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin
Cree is currently recruiting for a Distribution Center Manager with fulfillment and distribution experience to lead our newest center in Pleasant Prairie, WI. The Manager, reporting to the Director of Logistics & Distribution, will manage all activities within this growing, high-volume operation. He/she will drive productivity and continuous improvements across all functional areas, including safety, inventory control, receiving, picking, packing, shipping and returns. He/she will lead and inspire the development of the management team and associates by demonstrating a command of operational efficiencies and a mastery of team member engagement. This person will be responsible for setting high standards and goals for the operation and ensuring that these targets are achieved. This position requires a results-oriented, high-energy, and dynamic individual able to work and thrive in a fast-paced, growth environment. Excellent communication skills with all levels of management and staff will be critical.
Distribution Manager – Responsibilities
Accountable for all activities at the Distribution Center, including overseeing operations to achieve maximum efficiency, leading inventory control activities, building a strong culture of safety and quality, and ensuring all functions exceed customers’ needs and established financial benchmarks.
Drives operational requirements by deploying, scheduling and assigning employees; closely monitoring results on the floor daily, weekly and monthly
Maintains Distribution Center morale and improves performance through innovative and relevant coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
Ensures close communication and collaboration with Customer Service and other relevant company departments and functions
Achieves or exceeds financial objectives by preparing and monitoring daily and weekly output and labor budgets; analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions
Assists in safeguarding warehouse assets, operations, inventory and employees by establishing and monitoring safety and security procedures and protocols within appropriate scope
Enables inventory accuracy for the Distribution Center by conducting cycle counts and/or physical counts; reconciling with system counts; changes processes as needed
Quickly and accurately processes customer returns
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending technical workshops and reviewing professional publications
Complies with all applicable federal, state and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by reviewing existing and new guidelines; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions or investments
Other tasks as needed to meet business needs

What you need for success:
4-year university degree preferred
7-10 years of direct management experience, including a salaried and hourly workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment.
Ecommerce or direct-to-consumer fulfillment experience strongly desired
Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean techniques
Experience working in an ERP WMS environment required, Oracle WMS preferred
Candidates must be flexible to work a variety of hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays when necessary
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Highly preferred skills and certifications:
Demonstrates initiative; able to set priorities and follow through
Solid staffing expertise, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and terminations
Demonstrates confidence and influence in leading a team to achieve goals
Proven ability to train and mentor associates
