Summary: The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee all production operations by working cohesively with members of management and production teams to ensure daily operations efficiently and effectively meet or exceed customer requirements.
Ensure compliance with all safety rules and use of proper PPE Directly supervises 4 production supervisors, maintenance supervisor, indirect supervision of 54 operators, and 11 maintenance techs Responsible for overseeing scheduling, staffing, and departmental assignments Coordinates maintenance of equipment, quality and inventory control and production activities within all manufacturing departments Set up and implement standard operating procedure for all production operations Monitor the production process and adjust schedules as needed to meet internal and external product demands Implement and drive continuous improvement activities through implementation of change management process and best practices Ensure manufacturing procedures are in place to support our safety and ISO 9001/14001 programs Coach and develop resources to meet business objectives Assist in administering personnel policy consistent with Corporate policy Review the performance of subordinates and provide constructive feedback. Monitors and maintains consistent discipline within the production team Responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities to include, PM’s, inventory of critical spare parts, work order system, KPI’s, and maintenance reports Perform or designate equipment and building safety inspections in accord with all current regulations Ensure compliance with site EHS plan Work with supervisors to promote a safe work environment Interacts with all plant personnel including department managers, supervisors, and team members
Bachelor’s degree in technical related field. Chemistry/Engineering preferred, but not required. Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in a high volume production environment. 5 years of supervisory/managerial experience. Strong background in driving and measuring plant safety requirements Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques Extensive knowledge of plant level safety requirements and standards. Experience in human resource principles and practice as well as overseeing quality control and raw material programs Strong leadership skills. Ability to demonstrate project ownership and initiative Excellent analytical, problem solving, organizational and planning skills Strong computer skills, not limited to Microsoft Office and SAP
Ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, lift and move continually during working hours. Ability to climb stairs Is subject to lifting 55 lbs. Works in non-temperature controlled environment Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, and fumes. Material present in workplace (typically contained in raw material): Ba, Ca, Sr, CeOx, A1203, and other trace elements or compound of PbO, NiO. Additional chemicals in some production areas: Acetic and Sulfuric Acid, Sodium Hypochlorite, all handled with protective equipment. All noise exposure is below 85 db TWA The wearing of the following PPE required while on production floor: hard hat, safety shoes, safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection.
