An ADS Distribution Center Truck Driver is required to safely operate company equipment and provide the highest level of customer service in terms of delivery and customer management. A Driver is responsible for inspecting, tracking and maintaining the maintenance of the unit that is assigned to him/her as well as any equipment being hauled. ADS Drivers
should maintain legal DOT and ADS logs, paperwork and driving practices. A Distribution Center Driver is also required to perform the duties of a yard person as described in the Yard Description and Responsibilities below. This position requires the flexibility to work any day of the week that driving hours are available as well as loaning driving services to other ADS facilities. Drivers report directly to the D.C. Manager. This position requires the employee to hold a valid Commercial Driver's License.
The responsibilities of an ADS Truck Driver include, but are not limited to:
Safe operation of all company equipmentReport BOL discrepancies
Maintain proper communication with customer and Freight ManagerManage safe unloading at delivery destination and place product in customer's desired location
Maintain an accurate and legal driving log and communicate availability to Fleet ManagerTimely reporting of ALL accidents, incidents or violations
Ensure accuracy of delivered quantities and product typesMaintain accurate and up-to-date daily paperwork (trip envelope, RMA's)
Maintain high levels of personal appearance in the wearing of the company uniformSubmit all company-related documents on a daily basis whenever possible.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and operational capacityTravel to other ADS locations and provide support in the ADS Loaner Driver program
Adhere to company and departmental policiesEnsure loads are properly secured
Perform pre/post trip inspections of all equipmentReport equipment and payload problems/hazards
Perform in-route inspection of all equipmento Understand and practice ADS CORE VALUES
A Professional Fleet Driver must meet the following eligibility requirements at all times during his/her term of employment:
Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) that is applicable for the type of commercial equipment being operatedMust meet/or exceed physical standards of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administrations (FMCSA) and ADS
Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record from all states where prior licenses where heldMust be at least 21 years of age (DOT requirement for interstate operation)
Must satisfactory pass all required drug tests, and background checksMust pass ADS road test
A Loader is responsible for safely and accurately loading and unloading all deliveries made and received by ADS. A Loader must demonstrate safe and proper vehicle operation at all times. A Loader also interacts with company and non-company drivers as well as will-call customers. Loaders should represent ADS in a friendly and courteous manner and display
excellent cust mer service skills.

Driver and Yard Skills:
An ADS employee should possess the following skills/knowledge:
Must be able to read, write and perform simple mathematical calculationsMust possess skills to handle receipts, read road maps, road signs, maintain driver logs, etc.
Firm working knowledge of DOT regulations and freight requirementsComplete knowledge of safe loading/unloading procedures for all ADS equipment and products
Complete knowledge of all ADS finished goodsPossess SAFE defensive driving skills
Courteous/friendly/positive representation of ADSStrong communication and interpersonal skills
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
