Bring along your passion and do your life's best work.(sm) As the Sales Channel Development leader for United Healthcare, the person in this role will be responsible for the development of business generation tools and services for the broker and on-line small business sales channels. Development will be targeted at helping benefits consultants grow their business through finding insights and opportunities that lead to tools and services that improve their business model. As well as the development of services for businesses themselves that brokers can bring to them and enhance their value. This leader will need to create a continuous pipeline of innovative smash hit tools and services. While managing the R&D budget to create a balanced portfolio of tools and services that cover the different benefit consultant and business segments. Measuring performance and ROI of the portfolio, and making improvements and refinements to what’s been developed where needed. This leader will succeed by working with health plan leadership, benefits consultants, and across the UHG enterprise. As well as cultivating and working with external companies. The candidate selected for this position will help shape the vision and direction of United Healthcare’s distribution strategy and its execution.

He or she needs to bring a working from the customer’s point of view in - orientation, the ability to collaborate internally and externally, and adaptability. Primary Responsibilities: Developing and launching an aggressive innovation pipeline of new tools and services Manages the overall ROI of the portfolio developed to exceed financial expectations and effectively grows R&D investment Understands the importance of using a robust stage gate - or comparable - development process that goes from ideation through go to market Creates an effective, highly productive process for tapping into sales leaders, external trends, brokers, and other industries to cultivate a continuous flow of new tools and services ideas.

(opportunity identification) Hands on development, coordination, and guidance of others to build internally, effectively use capabilities of external firms in development, and forming strategic partnerships with external firms Assessing, vetting, and negotiating contracts with external firms Thinking conceptually to form strategies and design as well as execute. In doing this, helping to re-think how its always been done in finding breakthroughs Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or Higher 8+ years of overall experience within a product development or similar type marketing or business function 5+ years leading large projects, programs, products that have resulted in meaningful outcomes Clearly demonstrated expertise in critical thinking, problem solving, and taking projects from idea to go to market Strong relationship management, collaboration, and interpersonal skills Influencing expertise Complex problem-solving (create options, then converge) Innovative and creative thinking Highly resourceful Organized and attention-to-detail approach Experience building, creating, and developing. Ability as ‘a builder’ of either new products, programs, services, channels, businesses, or innovation Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships that establishes trust and credibility in a matrix organization Ability to manage & prioritize work on multiple complex assignments Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in b2b marketing and customer acquisition Demonstrated results with bringing products to market and experience in the formation of promotions for products and / or services Knowledgeable and comfortable with financial measures such as ROI and break even A good subject matter understanding of at least one business function such as marketing, sales, finance, or operations Knowledge of or experience with a stage gate or similarly structured development process Entrepreneurial in nature, and able to work effectively within large organizations Careers at UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual.
