Job Description

Job Summary:

Performs a variety of duties in surgical services to maintain a well-supplied, sterile environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs terminal cleaning of each operating room daily, including thorough decontamination of furniture, equipment and air vents.

  • Transports case carts, equipment and supplies and disposes of hazardous waste according to policies and procedures.

  • Monitors and maintains supply inventories at an appropriate par level.

  • Provides physical assistance for patient positioning, lifting and, moving as directed by clinical nursing staff.

  • Performing the task of a surgical scrub, will be under the direct supervision of an experienced associate.

Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Preferred Credential(s):

  • Certified Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

Education:

  • Technical School

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited surgical technician program required

Work Experience:

  • Less than one year experience required; will hire at the entry level direct from internship at completion of ST program.
