The successful candidate will be a leader in identifying, developing, and driving consumption opportunities related to Microsoft Azure with high potential customers across the Corporate Accounts and Enterprise business.
The Cloud Solution Architect's goals will be:
o Drive Azure adoption and new customer acquisition efforts across a focused list of accounts.
o Work closely with targeted customers to facilitate onboarding into Azure
o Achieve assigned revenue and Usage/Consumption Azure targets across said accounts.
o Build a foundation for long term Azure Revenue and Usage/Consumption growth
o Ensure successful cloud adoption and migrations into Azure
o Work with a team of other sales professionals to support sales cycles
o Remove technical sales and consumption roadblocks
o Present to customers - from IT Pros and Developers to CxOs
o Identify key trends & drive necessary improvements in sales & product to capitalize on opportunities
The CSA must be the expert source of information for the high potential team in mapping customer business initiatives and strategies to requirements supported with solutions and strong business justifications. In addition to senior level interaction with our strategic customers, the CSA will be a sought after resource by Microsoft sales teams for their leadership in tough competitive situations while simultaneously working with Microsoft's product development teams to share competitive insights and recommendations. The CSA will work with Microsoft counterparts to help educate them on Azure offerings, positioning, and joint selling strategies. You will also provide expertise on the business and technical value of Microsoft’s public cloud offerings versus the competition.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
The Azure CSA must possess world-class technical depth as well as solid business knowledge of Microsoft and competitive public Cloud Providers and offerings. They must also possess:
Insatiable desire to be a leader in Microsoft’s Cloud Computing strategy and passion to compete and win
Ability to articulate pros & cons of design/architecture decision across a wide spectrum of factors - e.g. latency, resiliency, storage patterns, etc.
Able to coach and mentor a broad constituency - Field Sellers, Consultants, Partners, & Customers
Able to distill widely variant feedback into root cause issues and provide actionable feedback to other stakeholders
Successful candidates will have great communication and relationship-building skills, will be customer focused, action oriented, deal well with ambiguity, think strategically, and be a self-starter.
Experience with online services, hosting, security, and compliance and data sovereignty issues.
Deep technical experience in one or more of the following areas:
o Software design or development
o Systems Operations / Management
o Database Architecture
o IP Networking
o IT Security and Compliance
Successfully drive the win rate within assigned Microsoft Azure opportunities through the technical sales engagements (Technical Briefings, Trials, POCs, Architectural Design Sessions, etc.)
Determine ways to work around or eliminate technical blockers to adoption
Determine methods of integration between on-premises and cloud solutions to meet customer requirements
Understand the security approaches and customer concerns around a cloud architecture
Candidates should have, and be able to demonstrate, strong negotiation, organizational, creative, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills. A successful candidate should also be able to deliver persuasive presentations to both technical and business decision makers, have strong virtual teaming abilities, have exceptional leadership skills, and a strong commitment to customer service and be knowledgeable in strategic planning, risk analysis and business justification. As a basis for success, candidates for this role should have a minimum of 7 years of directly relevant enterprise technology sales experience. A bachelor's degree is required.
