The University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work has an opening for a Multimedia Assistant to work in the Institute for Innovation and Implementation (III). Under general supervision, this position would provide a variety of media and production for several current grants, national partners, and III. The person should bring knowledge about the best practice in creating media products like videos, podcasts, and animated shorts matched with an understanding of how that knowledge blends with the subject matter experts, partners, and staff of the TA Network, National Training Initiative, and The Institute. This position will support the work of the TA Network, The Institute, National Training Initiative, and our partners. This position will help with the coordination media projects, edits, timelines, and approval processes.The Institute serves as a national training, technical assistance, evaluation, policy, systems design, and finance center that is focused on childrenand#39;s behavioral health. The Institute supports state and local governments and organizations to implement effective systems and practices to best meet the needs of children and youth with complex behavioral needs and their families. This support is provided through three primary units within The Institute: Policy and Finance; Technical Assistance and Implementation; and Research and Evaluation. Essential Functions:Supports the development and edited content for media products like podcasts, animated shorts, video, and online training presentations. Organizes and supports the dissemination of communication strategies for various media content and insures they are produced and available online.Provides filming for various grants to produce videos of experts or families for the use in media projects or online training. Will coordinate the filming schedule, talent, and scripts prior to filming date.Provides postproduction work for in house filming and other film products and animations as needed for various grants and projects.Note: The intent of this list of primary duties is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities of this job. Minimum Qualifications:Education: Bachelorandrsquo;s degree in Instructional Technology, Multimedia Technology, Film/Media, or related fieldExperience: One year in the operation and maintenance of audio-visual or multimedia equipment.Preferred Experience: Prior experience in instructional technology and/or online webinar coordination strongly preferred.Other: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Thorough knowledge of the operation and maintenance of multimedia equipment; of basic media systems and facilities design. Knowledge of basic methods and techniques used in organizing and conducting various media projects ranging from pre-production, production, and post production work; Elementary knowledge of best practice in filming techniques.Knowledge of graphic design software and Microsoft Office Suite products.Skill in the operation and repair of multimedia equipment.
